About transaction Advising Taranis on its $27 million investment into the Corbetti Geothermal project.
Corbetti Geothermal is situated in Ethiopia’s Corbetti Caldera, approximately 250 km south of Addis Ababa. The project has been under development by InfraCo (PIDG’s project development arm) since 2015, and Taranis’s investment marks a significant milestone in its advancement. Corbetti stands among the very first geothermal projects on the African continent to be developed with private capital.
Upon completion of exploration drilling, Phase 1 will deliver a steam field and production wells supporting a 50 MW power plant. A subsequent Phase 2 is expected to unlock an additional 100 MW of generating capacity, meaningfully contributing to Ethiopia’s renewable energy ambitions.
