AFRIGREEN and BGFIBank announce the financing of the phase I of Plaine Ayeme power plant near Libreville

AFRIGREEN is pleased to support the financing of Gabon’s first utility-scale solar power plant through the AFRIGREEN Debt Impact Fund, managed by RGREEN INVEST and advised by ECHOSYS INVEST.

Alongside BGFIBank, AFRIGREEN has signed a €28 million loan agreement to finance Phase I of the Plaine Ayeme solar project, developed by SOLEN SA near Libreville.

Delivering 30 MW of solar capacity combined with battery storage, the project will strengthen grid stability, support growing electricity demand, and contribute to Gabon’s Vision 2030 energy transition strategy.

This transaction marks AFRIGREEN’s first investment in Gabon and the implementation of a local syndicated financing structure alongside a regional banking partner.
